Please read these terms carefully before using Agent's RuleCheck. By downloading or using the app, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About the app
Agent's RuleCheck ("RuleCheck", "the app") is a compliance reference tool developed for licensed real estate professionals in Alberta, Ontario, and British Columbia. It is published by Bruce Foster and distributed through the Apple App Store.
2. Not legal advice
RuleCheck provides educational compliance guidance only. Nothing in the app constitutes legal advice, and no solicitor-client or advisor-client relationship is created by your use of the app. Answers, summaries, and records generated by RuleCheck are reference material only. You must verify current legislation and seek advice from a qualified lawyer, your broker, or your provincial regulator before acting on any guidance the app provides.
3. Accuracy and currency of content
We make reasonable efforts to keep the regulatory content in RuleCheck current and accurate. However, real estate legislation and regulator guidance change frequently. We do not warrant that any content in the app is complete, accurate, or up to date at the time you access it. You are responsible for confirming the current state of any rule or obligation before relying on it.
4. Eligibility
RuleCheck is intended for use by licensed real estate professionals and those studying for licensure in Alberta, Ontario, or British Columbia. By using the app, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and that your use complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Access to RuleCheck requires a paid subscription, available through Apple's in-app purchase system. Subscriptions are billed monthly at the price shown on the purchase screen at the time of purchase. A 1-month free trial is available to new subscribers. Billing, cancellation, and refund requests are handled entirely by Apple and are subject to Apple's terms and policies. We do not process payments directly and have no access to your payment information.
6. Your account
You may create a free account to sync your compliance history and case records across devices. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use RuleCheck to provide legal advice to third parties, to resell or redistribute app content, to reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the underlying rule-bank data, or to use the app in any way that violates applicable law or the terms of your real estate licence.
8. Intellectual property
All content, design, software, and data in RuleCheck — including the rule-bank, compliance logic, and generated outputs — are owned by or licensed to Bruce Foster. Nothing in these terms grants you any ownership interest in the app or its content. Provincial legislation reproduced in the app remains the property of the respective Crown and is reproduced for reference purposes only.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
RuleCheck is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bruce Foster and any associated parties shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use RuleCheck, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to the revised terms, you should stop using the app and cancel your subscription.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.
