Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters. This policy explains what information Agent's RuleCheck and this website collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. App version 4.1 build 806.

1. Who we are
Agent's RuleCheck is published by Bruce Foster. References to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to Bruce Foster as the developer and publisher of the app and this website. You can reach us at support@rulecheck.ca.
2. About this policy
This policy covers two distinct contexts: (a) the RuleCheck iOS app and its optional cloud features, and (b) this website (rulecheck.ca). The data practices for each are described separately below. The app does not require a RuleCheck account to use its core compliance features.
3. App — on-device storage
By default, all records, cases, notes, and documents you create in RuleCheck are stored on your device and protected by iOS file protection. The app does not upload this data unless you explicitly enable optional cloud features described below. You control your own encrypted backups and exports. The built-in rule-bank guidance runs entirely on-device and does not send your queries to any server.
4. App — optional iCloud settings sync
If you enable iCloud settings sync, the app transfers supported preferences — such as your selected province, role, and home-tool order — through Apple iCloud. This sync does not include FINTRAC records, cases, notes, documents, or compliance-check evidence.
5. App — optional encrypted record vault
The optional encrypted record vault is a separate opt-in feature that uses Apple iCloud. When enabled, it syncs supported provincial notice text and compliance-check evidence. Cases remain local unless you explicitly select them for vault sync. When you select a case, the vault syncs that case's details, notes, action items, future edits and additions, and attached documents up to 20 MB per document. Separately linked records and notice attachment files are not included. Revision history for prior case details is retained. Archiving or reopening a selected case also syncs. FINTRAC records and client-identity verification evidence are excluded from the vault. You must not include FINTRAC records or client-identity verification evidence in selected cases, notes, or attachments. Free-text and attachment content are not automatically classified by the app.
6. App — turning the vault off and removing cloud data
Turning the vault off pauses sync but does not delete your cloud data. Removing cloud record copies is a separate action. Before removing cloud copies, you should turn the vault off on your other devices first. After removal, the app retains your local records and places a cloud stop marker to prevent automatic re-upload; restarting uploads is a separate action. Removing cloud copies does not delete any external backups, exports, or copies you have shared.
7. App — optional AI assistance
The app offers optional Apple Foundation Models assistance, which runs on-device when available on your device. If you have configured RuleCheck Cloud guidance, information you submit for guidance is sent to that configured service. If you have configured a brokerage identity provider, information for the check is sent directly from your device to that provider with your consent. Licence images and biometric templates from that workflow are not stored by RuleCheck. The identity provider's own privacy policy applies to data it receives.
8. Website — account features
If you create a RuleCheck account through this website, we collect your email address and display name. This account is used to authenticate you on the website and to associate any website account-linked features you choose to use. A website account is not required to use the core app, and website account credentials are separate from Apple Account, which is used independently by iOS for iCloud features.
9. App — purchases
All in-app purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple's privacy policy governs any data Apple collects in connection with purchases. See apple.com/legal/privacy.
10. Website — what we collect
This website (rulecheck.ca) collects information in the following ways: (a) Support form — if you submit a support request, we collect the name, email address, and message content you provide. Submissions are forwarded to GoDaddy's Inbox service (Re:amaze), which processes them on our behalf to enable us to respond. GoDaddy's privacy policy applies to that processing: see godaddy.com/legal/agreements/privacy-policy. (b) Account creation — if you create a RuleCheck account through the website, we collect your email address and display name. (c) Infrastructure — this website is hosted on GoDaddy's platform and is served through Cloudflare's content delivery network. Both providers may process standard technical request information — such as IP addresses, request paths, and timestamps — as part of normal hosting, security, and performance operations, under their own privacy policies. No additional analytics or behavioural tracking scripts were found in this website's implementation at the time this policy was last updated; however, hosting providers may process technical request information under their own policies regardless.
11. Website — cookies
This website uses session cookies to keep you signed in if you have a RuleCheck account. No additional analytics or advertising cookies were found in this website's implementation at the time this policy was last updated.
12. Support
When you contact us through the support form or by email, we receive only the information you choose to submit. Submissions are processed through GoDaddy's Inbox service (Re:amaze) on our behalf. We use your submission to respond to your inquiry. GoDaddy's privacy policy applies to Re:amaze processing: see godaddy.com/legal/agreements/privacy-policy.
13. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS) for data in transit. On-device data is protected by iOS file protection. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
14. Data retention
Local records are managed on your device. Retention controls and revision history may apply to particular record types within the app. Removing the app does not itself delete iCloud copies, encrypted backups, exports, or records held by configured providers. For website account or support data deletion requests, contact support@rulecheck.ca; applicable retention requirements may apply.
15. Your rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct inaccurate information, and to request deletion of your account and associated data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@rulecheck.ca. If you are a resident of a Canadian province with applicable privacy legislation, you may also have additional rights under that legislation.
16. Children's privacy
RuleCheck is intended for licensed real estate professionals and is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
17. Changes to this policy
We will update this page and its date when our practices change. Where required by applicable law, we will provide notice or request consent before material changes take effect. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
18. Contact
If you have questions or concerns about this privacy policy or how we handle your data, please contact us at support@rulecheck.ca.
